So the facepaint is normal for him? At first glance, what I thought I was seeing was "Young celebrant and/or sacrifice (actual or symbolic) for a season-turning ceremony: Green for the life of the fields, skull for death, candle for eternal fire that consumes its non-eternal fuel...."

Yeah the facepaint was part of the owner's design, and this was gift art, so I left it in. XD

Oh, sure; I figured it was what the commissioner wanted, and you made gorgeous art of it. I'm just an oddbrain who tends to see anthropology as well as art, the way some people notice specific bible scenes, or anime vs. western cartoons, or Art Noveau vs. Art Deco. We all have our own focus points.

I just noticed his eyebrows are floating. But it works so well. I'm so often tempted to draw floaty eyebrows on my characters with bangs to better capture their expressions. I should probably try that more often...

lol, sometimes I do it, and sometimes I don't. It depends on the particular image and a lot of times on the color/value of a character's hair. If it's too light, I tend to avoid it, or if the expression comes across clearly with them obscured, then it's usually fine. But if the brows are more needed for an expression and would otherwise be hidden, I'll usually let them stand out to varying degrees.
