Beta 1.3? That's just... I mean, wow...
Nostalgia trip. I can barely remember what it was like back then. How the heck did you find that version after so long?

lol

I found my old photobucket account (like, 2010-2011) and it was saved on there, along with a few other things. This was when I had the cracked version, though (because I'm cheap and I didn't want to have to buy the beta version along with full version when it came out). I have the 'legal' version now.

I bought it back in Beta 1.4 myself. It was cheaper that way, and I didn't have to pay for it when it was released properly.

It was later in the Beta that if you bought it then, you'd have to buy the official release, too (if you wanted it). So I kept the pirated version until the official was released.

Really? I thought that if you bought the beta, it counted as buying the full game.

Not that it really matters how you got it, as long as you've got mad skills at building stuff.

There was a bit of an issue with that. Notch said that if the game ever picked up in popularity, then you would have to buy the official release to get everything. If you bought it before December something'th in 2011,(i forgot), then you would get the all updates and the official for free (after paying the amount for getting beta) If you bought it between then and the official, then you would have to buy the official, too. Lame, but whatever...

Ah, I remember that. The original offer was Minecraft, plus any and all expansions released in the future.
After Notch recieved some advice from... his lawyers, I think... he changed the offer. People after that point would have to buy any expansions seperately.

yup. But, as if there aren't a million and a half mods for it, anyways, right?

True. One of these days, I might take some screenies of the more interesting parts of my freebuild/experiment map.

They'd put your obsidian house and airship to shame. lol

I'll have to see if my cousin still has his world for download. Everything from Notre Dame to the Colosseum. He even made a 'Skull Island'. Like, he built an ENTIRE ISLAND, and put a giant skull on a cliff face, with fiery eyes and lava spewing out of it's mouth. For a size comparison, a single tooth was something like four blocks tall and four wide. It was pretty awesome.

Yeah, one of the maps he sent me a while back was something like three or four gigs. Facking massive!

I think my biggest map, after a year of playing, was like 10MB.
