The proportions seem a little off to me. (don't want to sound harsh...but it's my feeling) The eye seems off in it's angle, and too bright. all i think you need is again (you knew i had to say this) more dark areas and contrast. Now I'm assuming you used black paper with this. As a friend told me, with colored paper, you don't have to cover the whole piece, let the paper do some of the work for you, and play with it that way.
other than all that, I love this one. One of my favorite roles he did (hell I watched it twice yesterday) and the better of the two versions. (in my opinion that is.)

What I like is that he is dreamy....I mean, a very handsome man...lol
Seriously, what I love is that he takes chances with his roles. He just consumes himself whole with his characters, and makes them just sooo real sometimes. I mean it's a given that I love his Capt. Jack....best pirate ever....but my favorite role he did was in Benny and Joon....just an AWESOME movie....

Nice work. I think the eye looks a bit too feminine and big to be Johnny Depp's though.

This is a very good effort! I like the overall shading and composition. I look forward to seeing what else you create as you get more experience.

Thank you very much! Just one question: is it possible to recognize him?

Do you mean recognition as Willy Wonka or Johnny Depp? Either way, you did a very good job. Keep working at it and improving your technique. Like anything in life, practice makes perfect.

I like the overall composition. You need to work on the proper shading and highlighting techniques to keep your drawing from becoming too flat. The illustration lacks depth. I really like the colors that you chose. Just keep working, drawing and creating. The more comfortable you are with the medium (pastels, oils, pencil, etc) the more confident your work will become.

VERY nice for a second attempt with pastels. They're hard to get the hang of, being left handed I could never quite draw properly with them because I kept smudging the drawing.
