Aster sat upon the stone that lay in the center of the calm river, staring at the fish that swam by lazily and narrowing his eyes slightly. He had been intentionally ignoring his trainer, Sand, and putting off his graduation for a long while now, all because he was stuck inside of his own head and emotions. He was tired of playing this stupid game, of avoiding his responsibilities and his friends.

His friends.

The whole reason he withdrew himself in the first place was because he was in love with Quirrel. 'What a dumb thing to avoid her for though', a normal cat would say. Yes, it was dumb, but he was so afraid of saying something stupid or admitting his feelings for her, only to have Lucas hate him because what if he liked her too? Or what if Quirrel didn't like him back and it just made their friendship awkward and weird? Or what if she liked Lucas and went to him instead- which wasn't too bad, because Aster would be super happy for them. Gosh feelings are hard. Everything was so confusing.

But Lucas was leaving, or probably left already. That morning he said his goodbyes, for he was going to the Fox Village with some of the other warrior types. And Aster was left alone with Quirrel, to protect her and watch her while Lucas was gone.

Maybe it was time to just ignore these feelings, to bury them deep down. It was the only way he would feel normal again he had figured. Plus, it was time to finally grow up and graduate, to become a full villager of Artemis. He watched as the fish came closer, completely oblivious to him as he sat as still as possible upon his perch. Yeah, maybe it was time to just grow up. It was time to push past all of this, to hide his feelings for good, and just be the best friend he could be to Quirrel and Lucas.

Before the fish even knew what hit it, he had swiped it out of the water and landed the killing blow to its gills.

I hope this works as a final piece for Aster to finally graduate onto a full villager. I'm so excited for him to be a full adult like his friends LOL.

Also I spent a good while on this, but not as long as I usually do on a picture. I like this image a lot tho, I think it looks super awesome. It might be my new favorite, actually. <3
