Description ARRRH finally finished! This is a prize quest for who won in the *FloonsUnited contest. She wanted a nifty perspective shot with both drifloon and drifblim!

if you don't know what's going on, the floons are actually just playing around. Drifblim uses whirlwind and the drifloons twirl around in the vortex of the wind. ^__^ it looks like the new guy is having some trouble.

I hope Chokore-to likes! First time doing drifblim and he looks pretty darn good.

Edit:. ARRRHGGHGDFDFDF*foam* again jpeg sucked some color out!if anyone has any idea how i can fix this so i have nice vibrant colors please tell me! T___T

drifloon and drifblim belong to nintendo y'all

It's Great x3
Only save it as .PNG to have betetr quality
Maybe make it a bit smaller maybe that will take out th .JPEG evil out of it

Oh man, I would not want to be on that drifblim's bad side... D:
Hehe I like this composition.
What you can do is change the compression of your jpegs. If you're saving them as 8's, try 10's. Just remember, the higher quality the jpeg, the larger file size it is. What version of photoshop are you using?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TV-QueenMaster In reply to Synaesthetik [2007-11-22 05:21:58 +0000 UTC]

I'm using photoshop CS2 and yeah i have been saving as 8's so i'll try 10's

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Synaesthetik In reply to TV-QueenMaster [2007-11-22 08:32:21 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I think when it all comes down to it, it's either sacrificing color or having a large file... so, what I usually do is I have a .tif copy of everything. Even though those have usually large file sizes (because they save with layers) I can always go back and do another save as on whatever quality jpeg I want.

Waaa~ I love your Floon art so much... >w

Hmm.... and about the jpg color. Did you export the image set as CMYK jpg? I've noticed that even when you do have the color set in CMYK when you're working on it in the program, it will still export very blandly. So try exporting it as RGB. That should fix it.

ummarithecranky [2007-11-20 01:13:34 +0000 UTC]

Hey....DON'T USE .BMP! Someone mentioned that earlier. It's a terrible file format that makes it all grainy and low quality. D:<

Try using .PNG instead. It saves the image perfectly, so it looks just as it did when you drew it. It takes up more space, so if you can sacrifice the hard disc space, it'll keep art thieves off your tail! 8D

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TV-QueenMaster In reply to ummarithecranky [2007-11-20 01:49:05 +0000 UTC]

I didn't get the chance to try .BMP anyways....

Someone told me to use .PNG also but when i tried it out it looked almost the same as the jpeg... T__T.... will no one get to see the vibrant colors of hese things.. oh i'll try it again and yes i most defefnitly have the disc space for it..lol i have a tarabyte hooked up to my computer! :3

TV-QueenMaster In reply to Chokore-to [2007-11-20 20:10:41 +0000 UTC]

you meant the program? photoshop

Chokore-to In reply to TV-QueenMaster [2007-11-21 00:16:55 +0000 UTC]

When you saved, did you choose .PNG on the drop down menu, or did you change the filename to .PNG at the end?

When I saved, I chose .PNG and the colour of the bright green I used to test it still remained the same.

And when you tried saving the in .PNG format, did you save the one that had the vibrant colours?

TV-QueenMaster In reply to Chokore-to [2007-11-21 05:08:07 +0000 UTC]

err i change the ending to PNG. or Jpeg but is spent a little bit of time messing with another pic and there was no difference between the Jpeg or the PNG but i didn't actually change the pic its self so i'll try that..... *sigh*

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Chokore-to In reply to TV-QueenMaster [2007-11-23 05:20:07 +0000 UTC]

Changing the ending to .PNG doesn't make a difference in this situation. It only makes a difference if you change the picture format itself.

TV-QueenMaster In reply to Chokore-to [2007-11-23 06:04:17 +0000 UTC]

wow this is so confusing but i figured out with my other pic that if i stick to using web safe colors the color stays more vibrant and stuff no matter what ending part/thing that i chose.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Chokore-to In reply to TV-QueenMaster [2007-11-23 06:25:45 +0000 UTC]

I don't know what "web safe colours" are, but whatever floats your banana boat, and as long as it works for you. xD

TV-QueenMaster In reply to Chokore-to [2007-11-23 06:33:02 +0000 UTC]

lol banana boat....

i explain web safe colors to someone else but basically its a thing in photoshop that limits my colors but the colors don't dull when i upload to the internetz.

Chokore-to [2007-11-19 17:18:03 +0000 UTC]

I really love this! Especially how the Drifblim really looks like it's twirling and it's surprising how it's your first Drifblim, but you drew it really well!

If JPEG killed the colours, I can't wait to see the vibrant one, since I already think this is pretty vibrant already. xD

When you made this, did you save it in .BMP or .PNG? I think you can upload .BMP into Deviant.
