Description ''Hey dear,dear/Еј драги,драги'' , ''Kosovo peonies-Peonies /Косовски божури-Божури'' ''She had a deep sleep/Уснила је дубок санак'' are just some of the names for the traditional folk song from Kosovo. It's a song sang directly after the Battle of Kosovo(1389) where two armies clashed,the Serbian army and the Ottoman forces. The battle was by won by the Serbian forces because the Ottomans left the battle,both rulers died during the conflict. But just because the battle was won doesn't mean the war at large was. After that Serbia became a vassal state only to later be conquered. Kosovo is a very significant thing in many Serbian hearts,many have died protecting in and many probably will. There's a myth regarding the casualties of the battle.

Kosovo peony(Paeonia decora) is a symbol of suffering of the Serbian people. According to tradition, peony that grew in Kosovo was white, and after the Battle of Kosovo at Gazimestan in 1389, red peonies began to sprout instead of the white ones. It is believed that the flower obtained red color from the ground soaked with blood of the Serbian heroes from Kosovo, and as such this flower has spread throughout Serbia. People say that the red peonies, as bright red as they are in Kosovo, can't be found anywhere in the world

But as for those two that I drew; it took a long while. Finding which clothes to do,whether to even add the peonies and if I should just forget it and do another piece,but here it is finally. The girl is wearing clothes from Metohija,the western part of the territory while the boy i is wearing clothes from Kosovo.
I was debating on what his human name before converting to Islam would have been. I thought about the name Jordan since I read somewhere that it was quite a typical Kosovac name at one time. The other name I thought about was Miloš,as out history teacher had told us it wasn't a real name in Serbia in the past,it was sort of originally a diminutive of names beginning with the Slavic element milu,meaning "gracious, dear".  I think   Serbia(Vesna) would've called him that when he was younger and when they got along more.

The song that inspired me sang by different artists if anyone's interested;
