For the August 2006 Contest, you deviants get to draw the characters from a work in progress comic called Reclamation or Death. There's info about the characters and story below.

EDIT: On a side note, I actually plan to submit this script to comic publishers but I've recently learned that the best way to pitch a story is to accompany it with drawn out comic pages. I don't have the time to draw out the pages myself, so if anyone wants to donate the time into drawing out 6-8 pages from the script, I'll be shoving the pages under publishers' noses for you.

“Reclamation or Death”
The Story in a Nutshell: Rescue Drindy from the evil queen!!
Ok, seriously, it’s a fantasy setting, not too hardcore RPG, but definite has that flavor. Drindy, a little girl with a bum leg, who doesn’t seem all that important, is actually under 24/7 guard by her father and brother. But, well, the guys slip up and she gets kidnapped by the enemy queen by page 5. King Laulklan, who ordered Drindy to be protected in the first place, sends some allies to help get her back.

The Cast:
Carlyle Thargin, Knight
46 years old, dark brown hair, green eyes
Once a proud knight to King Laulklan, he was a legend among men. Now he is father of Jonis and Drindy, hiding away from his fellow man, a hermit in all respects. He likes a job done properly and won’t settle for anything less. A firm and commanding presence is still left over from his knighthood days, and he hasn’t forgotten his mastery with a sword. His loyalty to King Laulklan is absolute. He has been made Drindy’s guardian, and does all he can to hide her from the world.

Jonis Thargin, Archer
17 years old, dark brown hair, blue eyes
Jonis is one of those fantasy romantically historic boys that just about girl would commit a felony to meet. Honest, kind, brave, willing to give his life for love and honor, cute a button and can use that bow and arrow better than any blonde elf. Unfortunately, he’s a little dense, a little too trusting, a little too gullible; he’s the guy that’ll loan some silver coins to that perfect stranger with a sob story and actually believes he’ll get paid back once the poor tramp is back on his feet. Jonis is also very loving of his younger sister Drindy. In fact he’s more than just protective older brother, he’s her guardian as was ordered by King Laulklan.

10 years old, light brown hair, dark blue eyes
She’s the cutest little thing, full of curiosity and innocence, a bit of a heart-tugging image as she limps around on a crutch hand-carved by Jonis. She’s continually asking uncomfortable questions like why does she have to stay so close to the house, why can’t she go to town with their father, and why are there so many fires. Ignorance is bliss for her as she doesn’t know that the fires are fires of war, and they are caused by the evil Queen who will stop at nothing to capture Drindy.

Reath, Seer/Illusionist (Colors by someone I know who would rather stay anonymous)
19 years old, white hair and eyes
He calls himself a seer, though he is blind. A single touch and he can sense people’s whereabouts, people’s memories and knowledge. He’s got red-brown skin with a shock of white hair and the clothes of a wanderer which usually draws all eyes straight to him. He’s quite chipper, seeing the sunny side of things, a real likable guy, knows his place, works well with others, doesn’t run with scissors and thinks the world of Serinne. He’s more of a healer than a warrior, but on occasion can reverse his talents and let other see things that aren’t there with the slightest touch.

Aevon, Necromancer (Colors by someone I know who would rather stay anonymous)
appears 20-something, pale gray hair, yellow eyes ( oops, they're blackened in here xP )
Using the dead to do his work, Aevon is most skilled with animating bones. His favorite are his bone wolves, they’re fast and fierce, with misty outlines of flesh and fur. Plus they look really cool. It costs Aevon sleep, strength and part of his soul to animate the dead, making him quite poor in physical health. He’s prisoner of war, but he’s been released under Serinne and Carlyle’s watch as he is a great source of information to the queen’s strategies. Lanky, eerily handsome like a vampire, with that older pretty boy Sesshoumaru type lure, he seems to have a history with Serinne, teasing and testing her every chance he gets.

Serinne Redswan, Mage (not shown)
appears 20-something, black hair, gray eyes
That beautiful but deadly femme fatal magic user, she snaps her fingers and things get struck by purple lightning. She’s recognized quite easily by the white markings on her bronze skin that run the length of her arms. Serinne was companion to Carlyle in the days of the first war, she’s traveled far and wide and most who know her name fear it. She has a quick tongue and a quicker temper, but enough charm to keep the men knocking at her door for years to come.

Creator’s Notes:
Please no pictures of nudity, bodily organs flying through the air, or yodeling. Barbershop quartette might be ok, but no yodeling. These are characters that appear will be a comic someday *crosses fingers* so hey, feel free to do a little comic about them and score big points with the creativity votes.
