I used my dog as the general guide for the overall figure since she is a blue heeler and is built more with an average dog's build. Several drawing and biology books helped with my research and the rest was left to my drawing skills. It never hurts to over study what you are about to tackle.Related content

Nice! You'd be surprised how much it helps to draw an animal when you know what exactly in under all that fur/scales/feathers/skin!
