Just some practice, I tried to get L as close to the style in the manga as possible, altho I was drawing from volume 2, so at that point his character design wasn't quite as distinctive as it gets later....Drawn from ref without gridding or tracing. Added the crappy shading after.

I kind of liked how L was drawn before his design became completely solid... His looser look was a lot more mysterious and less... like a puppy.
Anyway, You got pretty close to the style, especially with the folds, but I think his torso might be a bit long if hes hunched over and curled up like that.
also i like the shade of blue

Yeah near the end L gets a little too cutesy sometimes.... I like him near the middle-ish.

I liked him more the first few times you see him, when he had curly hair and they covered up his face.

Really? I don't like the super super early L because they hadn't started drawing him with all that weird body language yet. I love all his weird awkward poses and movements and stuff 8D
