besides, neku was the only base that fit my actual art work on paper. that, and i don't have a scanner, photoshop, or any of that (just MSPaint and i even suck at using that!)

There are lots of free tools that you can easily use instead of photoshop - Paint Tool SAI or GIMP, to name two.

my parents don't allow downloads, so that's why i'm stuck with Microsoft Paint.

Guess different people have different views on what's official art. I see official art as the first pic you see of a character from things like wikis. So in my view, sprites and official arts are two completely different things.
