Description So I recently bought Hans Bacher's amazing book Dream Worlds: Production Design for Animation. Its pretty friggin sweet!
Anyways, it's inspired me to take a crack at BACKGROUNDS. I know, gross right? So this is just my first attempt on something backgroundy. I also used textures for the very first time, which was actually alot of fun. It seems like slapping a texture on there immediately adds visual interest and a neat, gritty feel.
Anyways, tell me what you think! I'm all about feedback on this one.

I really like this. It's simple but works very well. It got this "big city" feeling :]

I really like the background here. The darker colors and textures make it feel sort of like it's a really foggy/smoggy night city. Like Blade Runner. I also like the darker blobs of color higher up. They could be Hover Cars! It's compelling and interesting without being overwhelming and attention-grabbing.

Like my horrible wife.
