Do you know how many times I have had people try and convince me it was orange?
When I frist saw him I was like, Coolio! But why is it orange and not red? And gosh did people get on my case....
I am so glad I found someone who understands!

True, Papyrus does wear red, but why are his eyes red? The reason why I ask this is because red is the color of determination. As for the orange thing, it kinda makes sense for the eye glow. Sans (Undertale) is shown to be very patient and is a "judge", so has a strong sense of justice, hence cyan and yellow eye glow. Papyrus (Undertale) is very brave and is a kind person and is true to himself, so I imagine his eye glow to be orange, green, or any combo of the three.

The reason I chose red is for many reasons.
First on being Gaster's other eye glows red in Glitchtale. Gaster's eyes are cyan and red, when Sans died, Gaster's cyan eye died out, so his other eye would have to represent papyrus if Gaster's cyan eye represents Sans.
Second (this is my head cannon in both Undertale and Glitchtale) being that skeletons show two traits. Gaster's being patience and determination(in glitchtale) and Sans being Patience and Justice (In Undertale and Glitchtale) and I believe Papyrus would be determination and kindness. Kindness being for obvious reasons, but Determination also. When you go to Grillby's with Sans, sans talks about how papyrus wanted to be in the royal guard so he went to Undyne's house and asked to join. When she shut the door on him, he still waited there til morning until she said yes. Also, he's very determined to be in the royal guard, trying his best. If his other trait wasn't kindness, he probably would've caught Frisk and joined the royal guard, but his kindness and feelings probably override his determination. For further proof, he's also determined to get Frisk to be good in the genocide route, believing that Frisk can change even after they kill him.Β
Now, his determination may not be as great as undyne's, but he still has it.

I guess that makes sense, except for a few things. Gaster had been trapped in the void and is not really a regular monster anymore. So he has a bit of an excuse when it comes to having determination, which normal monsters can't have. Secondly, the loss of the cyan eye could be a sign that Gaster is no longer patient. As for Papyrus being determined, that was never stated, it could be motivation or ambition. And his desire to turn Frisk away from the genocide route could stem from his kindness, as he wants to help them, and everyone. And he also has the courage to face someone he knew is a murderer and offer help. He was scared yes, he says so if you abort the genocide route by sparing him, but he goes anyway. If Paps truly has determination, wouldn't he melt after receiving the death blow? The amalgamates were monsters that "fell down", dying. Undyne only melts when she's dying as well. This is because of the determination. Wouldn't that happen to Papyrus too? I can understand your reasoning though.
I'm not trying to be rude or disrespectful, I'm trying to have an intellectual conversation with you over this. I intend no disrespect towards you. I enjoy such debates, where people explain their points and be respectful towards each other.

It's fine! I actually got the requested scene from another friend, but her art style is considerably different from yours, so I gleefully await your version. And it's a great fic either way, so savor it.
When do you plan on doing more Glitchswap?
