I've been converted. What more can I say? I never thought I'd find anyone who would fit well with either of my two favorite characters on Bleach...and then I get directed towards fic with the two of them. And there were good ones and...I got hooked.

So I did this. Nothing special or dramatic...just my perception of them, really. Because as much as I love this 'ship these days, I don't think they'd be all sweetness and sunshine and rainbow fairies and butterflies. Far from it, in fact; I think, considering the expectations held by both of them, and by the people around them of both of them, and even just the fact that they're both Taichou...even their personalities at times, even if they did balance each other out...I think it would be quite difficult at times. Angsty, difficult, depressing, melancholic, even.

But you know, Ken-chan and Retsu are two of the most stubborn characters on Bleach, I think, so it'd work out in the end. If only for my shippy little heart.

The song I've chosen to implicate into this piece - and which influenced a lot of how it turned out - is called In Another's Eyes by Garth Brooks and Leann Rimes. It's a simple but sad, deep song...and it fits them in some aspects. Even with the whole context of love being blind to what's wrong.
