Because these two are them when grown up.

I'll re-post the backstory here, but I have tweaked with some things to improve the story.

Blue has a drooling problem, but rather than drooling saliva, he drools ink. It's actually a pretty bad condition, and it hinders him by limiting his participation in Turf Wars to 3 battles and only 3 battles or even anything that requires strenuous exercise. His family was even worried when he asked if he can join the Turf Wars. If he overworked himself, he might get into a fit and vomit a dangerous amount of ink. He learns to control his drooling better but that's only because of one reason...

Orange.

Blue loved the artworks she did when they were both little, but almost every time he watched over her drawings, his drool will drip onto the paintings, causing Orange to be quite upset. She dubbed Blue her rival after tolerating him for a long time and started to avoid him to this very day.

Blue just wants to talk to her and hopes that just by that they can at least reach an understanding. Orange, on the other hand, is stubborn to talk to him.

Orange, on her side, has been conflicted on her career choice. She is highly passionate about art, as mentioned before, but with the Miiverse drawings she's been seeing, she wonders if she could even make a mark in the art world. As she deals with this, she continues to go to art school and hangs out with her supportive friends.

Perhaps something drastic will happen in order for them to work things out.

Blue typically participates in Turf Wars, despite how dangerous it could be. He typically uses weapons with higher ink efficiency like the Splattershot Jr. and Aerosprays because he doesn't want to trigger a vomiting fit. He's actually strong-hearted despite his shy looking appearance. But that doesn't mean he's not a loner. Did you know he has no idea what a squid party is? Blue has a handful of fans who endear him because he fights despite of his condition, which makes him more optimistic. Then again, he gets looked over easily because of his condition. He prefers Callie over Marie due to how kind she is.

Orange likes joining Ranked Battles with her Inkbrushes and Octobrush (Sometimes you'll see her doodling on the walls with them). She is highly lively and has a high amount of faith in her teammates. You can also find her listening intently to Judd's advice or any other Inkling. However, that doesn't stop her from getting ticked off when Inkling are making some serious mistakes (At least she's not Salty Pink *shivers*). Orange is famous among the Inklings (Not as well loved as the original Orange and Blue but you get the drill) and, rather annoying for Orange, the fans will constantly ask for doodles from her. She prefers Marie over Callie because Marie is like her "spirit animal".

Also I will be doing one more drawing of another pair of Inklings (Original ones, I may add), a revision of Tenta's design, and some Pikmin!
