Commencing...

The '2012 Planetary Dragon Series!!!'

Tbh, I was/am actually kind of tentative about posting these guys. Last year's series...didn't go over well? Wasn't seen very much? Something, and it was actually rather disappointing, since I put a lot of work into these guys.

But anyway, I know /most/ of you guys like these guys, and anything I post dragon-related, and I really WORKED EPIC on these guys this year, and learned a ton, so hopefully my efforts will be seen a bit more.

ANYWAY, kicking off the 2012 series with the space phenomenon known as 'Galactic Cannibalism,' and that is exactly what it sounds like. Galaxies...eating each other. Yum...

Galactic cannibalism isn't exactly uncommon, though it doesn't happen all the time, in that we have many, many instances of galaxies devouring each other, though, obviously, there are more galaxies than galaxy sex, (which is another term for Galactic Cannibalism - galaxy porn. I'm serious. Look up some pictures, it's crazy.)

Galactic collisions are also slightly confusing as to why they happen, as the greater population of galaxies - and everything in space, for that matter - is empirically expanding, which means that things are spreading further away from each other. So why would galaxies turn their courses and collide?

Well, it all has to do with gravity and the tidal forces of a galaxy itself. For example, many galaxies have an intense gravitational field, like fatter than yo mamma. And, though space is expanding, some galaxies still insist on doing their own thing, i.e; rotating and heading in a different way, though still moving away... Are you confused yet?

So, the butthead-stubborn galaxy's gravity is pulling it in one direction, when poor galaxy #2 happens to be headed in the same direction, their paths inevitably crossing...

What happens is the most epic, sparkly display of sex in the universe, plz.

Basically, the tidal forces of the galaxies simply, literally slice through each other, creating a saw-blade effect, and then an enormous 'antenna' that sweeps up from the attacking galaxy. This is caused by the tidal forces, which means, even after colliding, the galaxies will pass through each other, loop around, and collide again, and this can happen up to several times until the galaxies' cores are rotating indefinitely around each other. Sexy, huh?

And, IN FACT, we ourselves in our pretty Milky Way are on our own crash course with Andromeda right now. Andromeda is only hurtling towards us at, like, a million miles a second, and we have a million or so years to go, but...sleep well, kiddies...

But what does that mean for us?!?!?!

Not much, actually.

Galaxy porn is pretty intense, but we'll be largely untouched. Since the galaxies are so large and moving so fast, the gases, stars, and planets within the galaxies are so far apart, they'll largely pass harmlessly by us.

So...you can either wet yourself, or sit back and watch the most spectacular, soft glow of electric sex in the universe. *shrugs*

So the art. Obviously, mean red dragon galaxy is attacking innocent purple dragon galaxy, OMG. Looks...painful.

Lots of sparkles...highlights...filter effects... The next coming dragons are a lot different than this. Except the sparkles part.

The descriptions of these HAVE to be at least half the worth of clicking! Of course, the pictures are amazing too. I can NEVER get a transluscent-shiny-sparkly-whatever effect no matter what I do.. but you seem to just nail it. You also nailed the "cannibalism" *cough*sex*cough* look very well.

idk why you arent proud of you last series, i like all of your planetary dragons :V theyre always so sparkly~

TwilightSaint In reply to UltimateSassMaster [2012-01-31 02:02:40 +0000 UTC]

Legit! Google some pics of galactic cannibalism - sparkle explosions of the sexy, colourful kind, for reals. [link] < I mean, come on, seriously Space.
Nah, I'm real proud of 'em! Just bummed that they didn't get seen near enough as the first installment of the series, or something. I'm just kind of worried that this year's series won't get seen too much, since I put a hella lotta work into them this year.

Yes! I totally should, been getting requests for that for a long while.

UltimateSassMaster In reply to TwilightSaint [2012-02-01 23:31:33 +0000 UTC]

so pretty @w@ its official, galaxy sex is the hottest sex in the universe :V

lol i know how that is xD; its weird that a lot of my better works hardly get view/faves/comments even if i put them into groups and whatnot owO;

xD i just did a series of calender dragons myself and my friend was like "ZODIACS BWAAAH" but since its spacey, i figured youd make a better interpretation than i would xD;

TwilightSaint In reply to UltimateSassMaster [2012-02-02 02:20:46 +0000 UTC]

Heck yes! o3o

Ugh, seriously. It's really annoying when it's a picture that I want critique on or something. Of course, usually those things aren't dragons, and...I know how my watchers are when I post something not-dragon.

Sweet! Yeah, I should do that for next year...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

UltimateSassMaster In reply to TwilightSaint [2012-02-02 23:44:11 +0000 UTC]

xD i actually like that you can draw stuff thats not sparkly galactic dragon sex owO i would comment more, but i usually get interrupted or i hafta get off in like 10 minutes [like right now my dad wont stop calling me >.>;] i think whats more irritating than not getting critiques, though, is when someone makes a completely ignorant critique xD; like, one of my friends critiqued a fluffy dragon of mine as if it were a dog [ie necks too long, legs too muscular, feet too large, tail too long] and it kinda irritated me cuz ya know its a completely different anatomy xD;

you should! i can already expect something fantastic xD of course, im still very anxious of this years planetary dragons too ;3 [actually theyre not really planetary anymore, are they? lol]

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TwilightSaint In reply to UltimateSassMaster [2012-02-04 05:02:03 +0000 UTC]

I've never had a critique like that before... But I have had people critique my pieces due to my dragons not being 'the right kind of dragon,' if you know what I'm talking about. Happened...a year or two ago? *shrugs* Kufaar anyway. XP I hate people who act like they're these huge 'experts' and don't give the time of day to any artist who doesn't draw /exactly/ what they draw, draw their characters religiously, or don't have more than one-million pageviews.

I...I guess they're not so Planetary anymore! But seriously...I think this year's series is just as good, if not BETTER, than the first series!!!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

UltimateSassMaster In reply to TwilightSaint [2012-02-06 00:20:51 +0000 UTC]

xD dragons arent the right kinda dragon? what kinda nonsense is that xD theyre ancient mythical creatures, the only right kinda dragon is whatever the artist says it to be xD i think its hilarious how people try to "sciencify" and classify dragons, when they can essentially be whatever you want them to xD; id like those "experts" to go criticize pokemon's dragons xD

lol yeah xD theyre more like astrological or galactic xD i cant wait to see more of your sparkly spatial dragons

on a side note, speaking of galactic, itd be pretty sweet if you redesigned dialga, palkia, giratina, and arceus, the "planetary" dragons of pokemon xD!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TwilightSaint In reply to UltimateSassMaster [2012-02-08 01:53:33 +0000 UTC]

Seriously! That's what I said!
It's fun trying to 'classify' dragons, but it's annoying when others try to be 'experts' and exert 'authority' over it. Just because they have a couple thousand pageviews, psht.
That was a nasty dose of douche-baggery and how nasty these 'artists' really are. Bah.

Ah, I love the sparkly dragons... And wow, that would be cool, redoing the Pokemon dragons!... *ponders*

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

UltimateSassMaster In reply to TwilightSaint [2012-02-21 03:12:18 +0000 UTC]

when it comes to classifying dragons myself, i go by only a few general categories: western [by extension: quadrapedal and bipedal], eastern [by extension: long-bodied, short-bodied, and winged], wyvern, sauric, serpentine, anthropomorphic [if that even counts lol], and unique. unique is basically anything that doesnt fit in the others xD but if you really try to get down to specific species and classify other artist's dragons in your classification criteria, you just look like a douche :I you know dragcave.net? if people draw the dragon species from that site, or any others for that matter, then i would accept the species' being classified. otherwise, nope :I

perhaps you can incorporate the sparkly pokedragons into the sparkly planetary dragon series xD

TwilightSaint In reply to UltimateSassMaster [2012-02-29 23:19:37 +0000 UTC]

Ditto - I usually very generally group dragons into different ethnic/historical morphs.
And exactly - it's pretty sad when people claim to be 'dragon experts' - it's really impossible! Besides the fact that...well, *cough* dragons aren't real, everyone's definition of them varies! (Which is one of the things that makes them so great. ^^ )

Hahaha, I'll think about it... (Some friends of mine really ruined Pokemon for me a year or so ago - just drove me absolutely crazy. I still love it for what it is and the creature designs, but I'm not motivated to invest much time in it. )

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

UltimateSassMaster In reply to TwilightSaint [2012-03-03 16:09:07 +0000 UTC]

yeah xD another thing thats great about dragons is that because theyre so diverse, if you can master dragons, you get experience in almost every area of anatomy xD and its a lot of fun just mixing and matching all the different variations of a dragon to make new ones xD

ooooh. ill probably never stop loving pokemon, since its kinda my childhood xD i grew up loving pokemon, and ive tried not-loving it, but i just get back into it eventually xD;
