It's sunset. The face. IT'S THE FACE!!! she looks like sunny... You know the usual face serious face she does like almost everytime you draw her. Like batman.
Also, i took a second look on her hair and that how i identify her... :I

Ahahahah.. yep, it's Sunset..! And, even so, the face she's making here is not a serious face.. it's a sad face..!
And yes, the hair.. it's the easiest way to identify who is who between the two..!

I guess I've come to see when it's Sunset and when it's Sunny. Unless you threw a curveball here and my guess is off by a mile.
The commenter below is right - she does look like Sweetie Belle quite a bit here, particularly since one would expect Sweetie to look somewhat dramatic, being Rarity's sister and all. I wonder if this could be an after-picture of her and the CMC.
I really like how you managed the perspective here, too - the angle of the swing and the shadows along with correct proportions make for a very realistic kind of look. Love the complexity of the rope - good job making such small details, they're one of the things I like in your pictures. Another is those proportions - seriously, that body... knowing the person whose body it is, I'm in love all over again, whether it be Sunny or Sunset. I really just adore how you manage to put in so much detail and such great feeling of depth, volume and proportions with just a little bit of pencil-style shading. The folds of her clothes, the volume of her skirt, the overall shape of them and of her. It's all wonderful.
There's one thing that I could point out, though - this angle and this particular expression on her somehow end up highlighting the weakness inherent in both animesque and EqG styles (though it could be argued that's animesque too), namely the head shape. I suppose what throws me off here is just how close to reality (albeit with somewhat slimmer proportions) the rest of Shimmer here is, as the EqG and animesque heads are more simple in shape than actual human ones (avoiding the many complexities of which is one of the main reasons anime-style is so popular), and the juxtaposition ends up underlining the difference. That is no fault of yours, though - you drew it as well as possible here, probably, without breaking the style. I suppose it looks less apparent at other angles, with colour and with expressions that make the mouth look more prominent instead of downcast like this.
P.S. This bears an uncanny resemblance to the start of our character conversation chain in another comment tree. Shimmer sitting there like this, that is.

Well, I'm going to throw a lightning-fast straight ball that even you couldn't hit..! This one is Sunset..! Ahahahaha..!
But if you really want to know the easy way to tell the difference between the two, pay attention to their forelocks.. pffh-.. "forelocks"..! The tip of Sunset's forelock is pointing away from her face, while Sunny's forelock is pointing to her face..!
Anyway, yeah, it does kind of look like Sweetie Belle, huh..? Heheheh.. I don't know what was I thinking when drawing this..! So, now that I cannot deflect any compliments, I'm just going to thank you for all the compliments.. so; Thank you for your appreciation~..!
See how boring it is..? Fwahahahaha..!
Now I just go straight to the cons; Yeah, I myself notice the "juxtaposition" actually; the head and the body don't go well..! I admit, it is my own fault.. and I take full responsibility for it..!
This often happens when I'm drawing traditionally..! I would draw the head first, then the shoulder and arms, and then the body, and finally the legs and feet.. Then I take a look at the overall pic and think, "okay, it looks good".. but then after I scan it, the true form of the pic emerges and I be like "wha-.. how did it turn out like this??"..! Ahahahaha..! Yet another funny case in my life..! So yes, it is my fault..!
Oh, and yea, maybe I was thinking hard of how our fic will go I unconsciously made this drawing.. hahahah..! But, why Sweetie Belle's features also in it, I don't even know it myself..!

I see. Somehow I kept missing it, even though people kept referring to it. I guess I was looking at the wrong parts of her hair. Although I don't mind, her hair is a wonderful thing to stare at.
Thanking for all the compliments, well, that's better. I can accept that as good enough. So, thank you for thanking! But yes, I understand. Do it as you like, as long as you feel our love and adoration anyway. And well, after Sunset's spent some time around Rares and Sweetie, I'm sure she could be a little bit closer to them and thus more like them. So there, your justification!
I still don't think it's your fault. It's how the style goes anyway. Though you could possibly do a little "post-production" improvement of the head, if you like - not in this picture, but maybe in future ones. See how it goes and compare!
As for the fic, for all intents and purposes, I'll be thinking of this picture as one from/for it now. Yay! This actually does feel very special, even if it wasn't intentionally this way.

Well, yeah.. it's always the smallest thing in life that matters a lot.. ahahaha..! And, as always, Sunset Shimmer herself is wonderful..!
And, well, I see you now have learned the way of thanking the thank..! Ahahahah..! Again, I'm just lucky, just a one hit wonder..! And now I'm back to the very bottom, so praise the ones who really deserve it..!
Hey that's a good idea.. maybe I'll make Sunset having a sleepover at Rarity's, and with Sweetie Belle, the three of them having a blast..!
Ahahah.. what are you talking about, TIM..? Of course it's my fault, I need to make the proportion correct..! And yeah, instead of fixing this pic, I'd rather make a new drawing..!
And~.. well, maybe I can continue from here and introduce Starbright.. like, maybe make him approach and ask her if she's okay.. but then, because she's engulfed with rage, Sunset just use her Demonic power and put him under her control.. she then make him turn around and walk away, before finally release the binding..!
pffh-.. ahahahaha..! Naah~ iJoke.. iJoke..!

The first line almost made me want to make an inappropriate joke. Almost. But yes, Sunset is wonderful indeed.
I always knew how to do it like you do, though. I do that myself sometimes. But nope, you are not any sort of one hit wonder - look at how many people watch you and come to see your drawings, and look at how many of them get great responses! Sure, not as many as Uotapo or such, but still. You really do deserve praise.
It's not really a fault that you didn't, it's just the style. But you could improve it if you tried working with the proportions.
And well, I could see that happening - at least, if Sunset still has access to that without the stolen crown, which, well, I don't think she does. That said, even if you drew it this way, I wouldn't mind.

Hmm, is that so..? Should I say, "well, maybe because you're a man"..? pffh-.. hahahahah naah iJoke..!
Now, really..? I thought you'd be more like "No, thank You!" ahahahah..! Anyway, yes, I am a one hit wonder..! And so far, I only got three hits and that's it..! And despite the number shown there, my real Watchmen are so very little.. eheheh..! And, what is this "great responses" you speak about..? Sure, but it's not my drawings that are getting them.. it's the characters in my drawings..! Even you agreed with me (about that Adagio pic deal)..!
Anyway~.. yeah, let's see if I could improve it.. heheh, drawing traditionally is really hard..!
Yeah, that crown is a source of power like the AllSpark.. of course I don't think that -not just Sunset, but anyone would have any magic.. other than that "Friendship" that turns them into human ponies.. hahah..! But hey, I can do anything for my AU, so maybe I will do it sometime later..!

I'm quite sure it's not just men who think of her that way, and not only because of her being an appealing person either. But yeah, she's wonderful.
Well, to be honest, you are receiving a consistent response to your works. Always a decent amount of comments, and they come in after you've posted them months ago, even. That's more than a whole lot of artists. It -is- your drawings, as other people's drawings of the same characters (aside from your own human Sunset) can often receive few views and no comments at all. People come to you because they want to see them drawn -by you-, with your style and approach.
Yep, it is hard, or at least quite different and not as forgiving as digital. That said, I'm sure you can do it.
And well, with what Rainbow Rocks and the shorts for Friendship Games are showing, magic is now also pouring over into the human world, so... who knows, maybe Sunset wouldn't need the crown soon enough. And in your AU, you could use that.

Heheheh.. yeah, I know.. because Sunset Shimmer is the character certain people want to be, and certain others want to have..!
And, well, some of my watchmen do say that they want to see certain characters drawn by me.. but take a look; even here, I only get few amount of response..! And I admit, I'd rather having it this way than a fully blown outta water pic that attracts more people..! It makes interacting with them intensively more eaiser..!
But, about those other artists, they're just not as lucky as I am.. I mean, without me doing it myself, someone put up my drawings to other sites like derpi, reddit, tumblr, or other soc-med websites..! You agree with me, no..? Ahahahah..!
And, yeah.. "not as forgiving".. ahahahah, that's funny fact right there..! I don't know it myself, but thank you for the faith you have in me..!
Anyway, yeah, I think so too.. And, don't worry about my AU, though the story itself isn't set, I of course have certain things that have been set to stone to keep my story going..!

Myself, I mostly want to see Sunset happy and pleased with her life. When I watched the My Past is Not Today short, when the part with "And I felt that I was home" came on, I caught myself thinking very clearly "This girl must never be sad again". Sure, a lofty and emotional phrase, but it certainly was the expression of my feelings then.
I understand. You do things as you like - that's how it should be. And you do these things well. I do have faith in you in case you would want to do more with it, and in general, in regards to your drawings.
As for uploads - well, people do that when they're so impressed with your art that they want to share it more widely. I always found it kind of silly when artists go all "omg no uploads anywhere and you're not allowed to show it anywhere else", even when they'd watermarked their pictures - it just means they deny themselves and their pictures a wider audience that would be interested in them. I'm happy you let your own pictures be uploaded like that. You do, right?
And of course, any AU needs some hard points to rest on to even be "alternate". There're some certainties in them that separate them from the baseline world. Even if they change with time, they still remain different from the main. It's like with architecture, you need to have points of support.

Eheheh.. yeah, as expected of TIM.. your instinct to help people striked you again, huh..? Ahahahaha..!
And, well thank you for your understanding, and again for the faith you have in me.. pffh-.. hahahah..!Β No no no, I'm not joking..! I'm just so happy..!
Hum.. is that so..? Well, yes some of them really do tell me about it, that they are impressed and they 'respect' me for it..! And well, for me, if I didn't want my art to be shared I wouldn't have put it out in public like this..! I intentionally not putting any signature or watermark so people can use my drawings for whatever they want.. for icons, avatars, even for fanfic arts if they see fit..! And that's why I consider myself lucky that there are people who like my drawing at all..!
And, yes..! I already have it all covered; I already wrote how it started, I already wrote how it would end.. and so the mid-story then will follow by itself and even can be created by anyone..! Ahahaha..!

I guess I can't help it. I love helping. And Sunset's case is special for me, too - a pony/girl who's gone down a wrong path in search of what she wanted, but found what she wanted elsewhere on a much better path instead, and finally achieved a decent degree of happiness... that happiness of hers is a treasure. I suppose even my OC would share a bit of that sentiment, glad to see her transform from a power-hungry villain into a happy young lady who's realized what she needs and has been granted it. He would find her smile as enchanting as I do, as well.
I'm very happy that you're happy. As I really want you to be.
And yes, it's indeed so - else your pictures wouldn't be shared like that. I respect you for them, too, as well as for your attitude in regards to them - it's very, very generous and very admirable. I'm happy you realize how these things work and are glad to share your work. (And your pictures do make for beautiful headers and avatars.) I don't just like your drawings, I like them a lot.
Still, you're the best person to create your story and AU. You know how it should work, since you planned it out.

Ahahahah.. yeah, you really do, huh..? Well, Sunset is now happy with the Five, and has unofficially become their alpha.. hahahah..! I'm sure you're happy for Sunset there..!
Oh well, don't worry about me, I'm as happy as I'll ever be..! I mean, what's the worst thing could happen..? Hasbro taking down all my fanart drawings..? Ahahahah..!
And, well yeah, again, it's mutual support..! They like my ever so simple drawings they use them for whatever they want, but it also grants me more audience.. so, it's all thanks to them..! And, really, which drawings do you like more then..? Mine, or the Great and Powerful artists' drawings..? Theirs of course..! Mwahahaha..!
And, yeah, of course I do.. but again, still, by planning the beginning and the conclusion already, the mid-story will follow by itself and can even created by anyone..! That's why I make my drawings 'open' like that.. so the viewers can make their own narrative and if I find it interesting, I'll use it..!

Yep, Sunset has taken the Twilight position in the human world. I'm happy for her in this way, and quite intrigued about how it will go. In light of this, I'm really impressed by the timeliness of EqG3's plot threads coming into play. But in any case, Sunset, o Sunset, keep on shining bright... <3
Thankfully, going against fanart is something only the most blockheaded companies would do, and Hasbro is probably the most lenient big company when it comes to fan work (I'm saying that as someone who had received a C&D from them, too). For all the trash-talk people give them in this respect, most of it is undeserved, as they only intervene in cases where there's enough visible reason to intervene.
And yes, you understand the audience spreading principle well. And I like your drawings no less than others'. Like I said, some things you just do better, because that's your particular talent sphere. Yes, better than them.
Yep, the way you go about it is clever. I'm still really glad and impressed to see an artist/writer/imaginative person like yourself not hoard their story matters and AU things and chomp down on anyone reaching out to touch them, but instead engaging with people and even using that to improve their own things! It's so regrettably rare in the age of inflated egos and delusions of grandeur. Thank you for this once again. *bows*

And, wow, really..? That's quite.. unexpected.. what did you do..? eheheh..! Well, I got to agree with you about Hasbro being lenient, though.. ahahahah..!
About me "understand" the audience spreading principle.. well, because I also am an audience myself..! And, so you said some things I do better than them.. that must mean most of the things I do worse..! Fwahahahaha~..! Am I right..? Of course I am..!
Ahahah.. naaah, if anything, if it's about me, it's actually my weakness..! Not be able to create a fixed story, so I kind of require help from the viewers..! They provide a starting point, then I can walk through it..! Everything literally is an empty canvas in my drawings, so you can fill it in..! And, well, I guess that's one of the perks for not being an ethnocentric.. heheheh..! Okay, for this, and only for this once.. I accept your 'thank'.. So~.. thank you for thanking~..! Now, rise~..!

Yep, that she does. And I'm a sucker for girls like her, I suppose. Though, as you probably have noticed, I'm overly amorous in general, so... I guess it's hard not to be.
Well, I'm part of a merry pony site outfit that did episode streaming. Thanks to a few very professionally-minded people working on that part, we launched out of obscurity and into being the most talked-about and between first and second most-viewed stream for the first half of S5. Then someone had the bright idea to rip their episode footage from our stream, and, being professional-minded, we put our logo on it, so in hours it was all over the net. Hasbro's legal counsel wasn't happy. It's not entirely clear whether they acted on their own behalf or whether Hasbro asked them to, though - they have a history of rushing in where Hasbro itself does not wish them to.
And yes, good point about the audience thing - that said, though, you actually -make use- of your understanding instead of sitting on it. And that, I certainly commend. And well, everyone does something worse than others, so you are not incorrect here either - though it isn't necessarily "most" things. But you do some things better, which is what matters here.
I wouldn't say it's a weakness of yours - I love that you want to engage your viewers like that. And thank you for thanking me for thanking you! *rises and hugs*

Aah, I see.. so I guess it was the logo that mattered..? If so, then yes, maybe I can understand it.. I think..? That would be like if I'm sharing other artists' drawings but putting my own watermark or signature in them..! Ah well, I don't know much about this copyright stuff.. eheheh..!

Hahah, I didn't mean it that way. Rather, I get affectionate and attached easily if the conditions are right, and in Sunset's cases, they are. You have nothing to worry about - you're just pleasant and fun to talk to, not without your own text-based cuteness at all but only enough to make me more sympathetic to you. So, worry not.
I suppose the logo did. No other streaming site got hit. Although, well, no other streaming site approached this with as much professionalism as we did, so that could've been a part too. The logo was essentially a message of "We're showing this, come watch it with us!" in that scheme. As for copyright stuff, the US copyright law is odd and certainly outdated. For example, the reason for most C&Ds is a law provision stating that if a trademark can be considered "disputed", the owner company must defend it aggressively or immediately lose the trademark. Kind of like saying "if someone trespasses on your land, you must shoot them dead or lose the land!"
You understand everything perfectly. It is a good thing, yes. And yes, you do things better than anyone else in some areas, so please keep doing them all!
And it's definitely not a weakness that you engage viewers with your story like that. And yes, it really does capture attention this way.
Thanks all around! *condenses you again* Wouldn't want you to be unable to carry on talking, so I won't hug again... yet.

And well, yeah, I think so too..! And about the copyright.. is that how it really is..? Wow.. with you wording it like that, it sounds really.. scary.. as if I could easily lose what I have in a blink of an eye.. heheheh..!
Well I hope I really do, though.. hahah.. Also, about me doing better in some areas, and about my weakness that actually not a weakness.. well, I'd rather doubt it still..! But if that's how it seems, then yeah I'll just keep doing what I've been doing..!

I guess it's partly the way of talking and partly your demeanour. After all, one of the reasons I keep showering you in praise is because you refuse to accept it. I both hope that you'll feel the admiration due to you and feel that you deserve it by not going egotistical.
Also, thank you again. I'm happy it isn't an annoying imp voice or anything.
Well, yeah, it is, the copyright law thing. The point is that, in practice, it's near-impossible to enforce it against fan art, unless someone goes really big and commercial with it. Though some companies have done such things before, Hasbro doesn't seek to; the only times their legal counsel shut down artists was when they sold 3D-printed figures en masse, and it was right before they set up their own official 3D-print licensing service where fan figures could be made, so it made perfect sense then.
Also, y u no hug?

And yes, they do. Though people would like to imagine they seek to shut down all fan art, it's exactly the opposite - fan art gives them massive worldwide advertisement free of charge, and I believe they're aware of that and don't seek to put a leash on it to control it directly, like some other companies do.
And... ah well, no hugs it is then.
