This is a painting I did of ‘the spook’ from the Wardstone chronicles. If you haven’t read them then I would highly recommend then as grate reads!Anyway I’m not all together happy with this; I was going to add his chain but wanted to keep the style simple and somewhat clean so left it out. Now looking at it, it feels like he needs it. Never mind.
I kind of did it in the same way as the cover art for the books. And though it’s different and thinks I’ve managed to give it the same feel.
Anyway enough of my ranting. What do you think?

It looks like a pretty epic movie, though not the spook books. they have certainly gone for the epic action movie theme rather than staying true to the books. i'd like to see it but go to it not expecting the story line from the books.

I think if i was making it i would play more on the spookiness of setting and story-line, it's what i love more about those books, they are not in your face horror but more creep up on your slowly horror.
but i guess epic feel is easy to make in moves than creep up on your horror.

I like the simplicity of this piece. You can easily tell what it is from the shape.
