Btw, your use of black and white, also on clothes and charas is extremely good!! It's true that a lot of manga's (esp the oldschool ones) base on black and white very much rather then all sorts of screentones, mainly because in the times of traditional screentoning, using black fill with ink would be so much cheaper than using a deleter screentone. I, myself, love this sort of use of black, I like when there's decent amount of it on a page, but somehow I act scared or insecure to use it freely, I get stuck and use screentones unnecessarily *_*
If one looks at Rumiko Takahashi's works for example, all charas with slightly darker shade of hair (no matter the actual colour)would have them black with lovely white accents, same for outfits . And technically, I should always fill in Rei's and Starfighter's hair pure black to make it look that oldschooly and cool, but I get scared of black and use some lousy greish screentpne which makes the whole page in a lame shade of grey when you look at the thumbnail I gotta get more secure with black and white, just as you here, I'm inspired !!!

I'm really happy you think that!
I'm actually the opposite, I'm comfortable with black and white, but I'm not confident to use lots of shades of gray. I think black is good 'cause it's one less screentone, so the page is less crowded.
