and I were talking about a spinoff similar to Jack & The Pack that would focus on the narrow gauge engines, so here are sprites of the engines who'd be involved and whose role they'd be filling.Related content

Wouldn't it make more sense if Skarloey was the main character of his show instead of Sir Handel and the same applies to Duck for the Great Western Engines too.

Not really, just because both Thomas and Skarloey and both number 1, doesn't mean they are alike in terms of personality. Sir Handel is the closest in personality to Thomas, so it makes sense that he'd fill his role.

Just cause Skarloey doesn't have the personality as Thomas doesn't mean he can be the main character of his show same with Duck and Diesel.

It makes more sense to base it off their personalities, TTTE wouldn't be the same show if an old and wise character like Skarloey was the main character. Sir Handel is very similar to Thomas in personality, so it makes the most sense for him to take his role.

It has to do with their looks, James once looked different (when he was painted black) and Bertram used to look different since I think it's likely that Smudger was rebuilt as Bertram after being found, so technically Bertram would've looked different at one point too.

That's not necessarily the case. Bertram and Smudger have identical faces and it's really not that much of a stretch to have Smudger be rebuilt into Bertram because not only was Duke found and restored despite being abandoned, Henry was basically rebuilt as a new engine after his infamous crash with the Flying Kipper. The thing is that if Smudger was found alive, he'd likely have to be rebuilt as he was left to rust out in the open rather than being stored in a shed like Duke was. There's also nothing in canon that definitively proves that Bertram and Smudger aren't actually the same engine, so there's nothing wrong with believing in the theory that they are the same engine as me and plenty of others do.

I see you did it based off their numbering for the most part. I did mine based off their personalities and Skarloey and Thomas are not alike at all apart from being number 1 on their part of the railway. I also didn't include Duck, the Scottish twins or Oliver because they aren't steam team members, they work on the Little Western line for the most part.

Well I've got Duncan as Emily because both of them are Scottish and stubborn, Rusty as Nia because of both of them are orange and can be sassy at times and Freddie as Rebecca because Freddie is very new Sodor much like Rebecca is.
