Name: Violette Durand

Personality: Violette is incredibly hardworking and dedicated to her job. She's often strict and teacherly with whoever she interacts with, especially if they belong to her Career. She is sometimes cold when interacting with people but is never outrightly cruel. She rarely smiles or gets excited about anything, but does not consider herself depressed, just realistic. She has little tolerance for immature or stupid people. If dealing with anyone who gets on her nerves, she is short and blunt when speaking. She is not fond of gossip or small talk and will often remain silent at social gatherings unless directly addressed.

History:
Violette was born into a family of scientists- her mother, a physicist, and her father- The original inventor of Life Partners. From the day she was born, she was raised to be a genius, to be as successful as her parents-her father, especially, encouraged her learning and her interest in the field of science, especially in the robotics field.

As a child, she had little interaction with people outside of her family or her parent's work-playmates were forbidden, for fear of distracting her from her studies. Instead, she sought company in the many life partners that worked as servants and aids for her family. She quickly grew to trust and love many of them, especially an older and slightly dysfunctional model which was aptly named "Deux"- the second life partner ever created.

Pushed hard by her family and aided by several tutors, she excelled at school and graduated with a solid entry directly into the Research Career at the age of 16. She was quickly placed into rank 5-partially because of her genetics, and partially for her skill within the field of robotics. At home, her relationship with Deux deepened. Alienated by her peers and refusing to believe it was wrong, she fell in love with him, keeping it a secret from her family and her coworkers.
However, it was not kept secret for long and after their relationship was discovered, her father ordered the Life Partner to be decommissioned.

On the night that her lover was supposed to be taken apart, Violette came home to her father lying dead within his office.
She was then attacked by the now completely mindless android, who clawed out her eye and then ran from the scene.
She was given a glass eye and they had a funeral for her father. Constantly haunted by nightmares of the event, she quickly developed insomnia. This was only made worse by the long hours she spent at the laboratories, working endlessly on new obedience programs and other safety features for Life Partners.
She no longer cared for anything-or anyone- except for furthering her career and advancing the Life Partner technology to ensure no one would be attacked as she had been. When questioned by the media about being attacked and how she felt about the death of her father, she simple replied that it was the fault of careless programming, and that new safety features were being installed in all newer models.

Ten years later, she was announced as the new Head of Research.

Extra:
She stubbornly refuses to get a new or robotic eye, or even get another glass one that fits, claiming sentiment. Her current one falls out frequently.
She refers to Life Partners as "Life Partner [name here]"

Opinion of Life Partners: She regards them as little more than machines and tools and believes they should be treated as such. She is only bothered by abuse if it damages the machinery and/or programming of the Life Partner.
