This photo is an example of a great capture that needs to be photoshoped. The contrast is a little low but the brightness needs to be upped more than the contrast. The eyes might also need an increase in saturation.
The cropping is a personal matter, and while it breaks some rules, I think it works with the image . With a few minor tweeks, this can go from a very good image to an outstanding one.
