Description
This is a species I created. They live roughly for a hundred years and mature into adulthood after a metamorphic cycle not unlike their cousins the frogs, starting as tadpoles and over the course of five years growing and learning before emerging from the water and moving to the trees. Their skin is very slick and soft to touch for the most part with their spines hard to touch and rather bony. The 'fur' on their tail is in fact little spines with spikes on them designed to help them pick up things with their flexible tail. Their fingers and toes have sticky liquid that they generate The fur on their head is grown to keep their heads warm. Their horns are mostly for show but are used in duels to solve issues they have with one another. They're sentient and intelligent and are even caring and loving parents, other parents children however are food as, like most frogs, anything smaller that fits in their mouth is food. When the children reach their fifth year and emerge from the water they're often too big to be eaten. They also practice shamanism and often live in small tribes.
