Okay, so, I'm working on a Boyd memory vault concept at the moment? Well, a few weeks ago I attempted to doodle up an idea of how I perceived Jasper Rolls and Bonita Soleil (aka bipolar Gloria VonGouten's inner critic and inner muse, respectively) - how their awful non-relationship began. I ship them liek over ninethousand times omfg. Seriously, Jasper's word-sniping at Bonita, and Bonita's negativity towards Jasper-- it's TOTALLY obvious, right? There totally needs to be a Much Ado About Nothing parody~! X3 Or, or, or----- Oh man, a Phantom of the Opera parody~~~~~~~
.Psh, anyway, I tried really hard to follow the memory vault format. It was quite difficult to tell a story in so little frames and no words.
I outlined this with my new FANTASTIC BRUSH PENS, then chucked it on photoshop. I'm really pleased with this, considering I have no special brushes, no tablet, and no serious experience with photoshop. 
For those of you who don't know, Jasper and Bonita are from the most excellent game Psychonauts, wherein they feature as the figments of bipolar (and kinda loopy) faded actress Gloria VonGouten's imagination. Mental vaults are these sepia-coloured slideshow-type cartoons which tell the (usually dark) inner secrets of the character whose mind you're in at the time. For instance, Ms VonGouten has two traumatic vaults which deal with character suicide/homicide, and a child's fear of being abandoned and unloved. I love memory vaults.
Anyway, yeah, expect to see that Boyd memory vault sometime.

Criticism isn't always bad... it just has to be constructive. Who knows? Maybe once he was her inner creativity- he writes plays, after all.

Well everyone needs to be a little critical of themselves sometimes... you just have to be careful that it doesn't overweigh the rest of your thoughts/emotions. Perhaps he was! His plays aren't too bad, either.

And for that matter, apparently he used to be small and hard to hear... so if the only way Bonita could even *hear* him was if he got meaner, and therefore bigger...
And I agree- his play wasn't that bad at all. Better than the first two we see... oh, man, the *pain*.

Hmmm I never thought of this but ohmy there is even more substance to those two now. ;_;
At least his play had a little... more... to it. If only there were better actors to act it out. *Cringe*

That detail makes it really tragic. Either be ignored by the shining star of the theater, or crush her light...
Although, notice the Phantom never attacks *Bonita* directly- an odd choice, considering how much quicker it would have shut the show down.

Certainly, considering Bonita already represents Gloria's inner sunshine it is odd that the Phantom wouldn't just steal her away and snuff her out, so to speak. Arguably it could be because Jasper wanted to watch Bonita destroy herself, but that's not a very solid theory...
Ooo-err, good luck with this if you follow that feeling! I keep on trying to write Jasper and Bonita fic but it never works. I suppose I need to rediscover my own muse!

That, and it is my personal belief that Bonita smells like caramel. And, as we well know, Jasper adores caramel.
Hmm, it might be workable... maybe if Gloria was falling in love herself, her inner state...? I, personally, ship Gloria Edgar as well. It'd just be so cute...

Wow, you ship Edgar and Gloria too? That's awesome, they're probably my favourite het couple besides Jasper and Bonita. They just go together so well. That sounds like a plausible concept given that concept, anyway.

They would be *really* cute, especially if you subscribe to the idea of most of the inmates becoming camp counselors later. And It would be a neat way of framing the story...

Certainly, it could almost be a style where the romantic interactions outwardly might somehow frame the interactions inwardly... if that makes sense.

That's the sad thing about Jasper. He's so awesome, yet he can't help being a complete biatch to anyone with faults (IE EVERYONE). It's a curse, really. A bit like the guy that can only punch the girls he likes, rather than express his true soppy kitten-filled feelings. Or something.

Maybe Benny is the demon-offspring-spawn of Gloria's Mom's evil manager/boyfriend's son/daughter? Maybe Benny or his oddly Jasper-like parents influenced Gloria in some terribly scarring way, even though, chronogically that would not work? I don't know anything about Psychonauts, but I have to say that I really like the direction you've been heading with your style recently. I really should comment more, but I admit that I'm lazy and just look. But yeah, the lines look really pretty.
