Hey everybody, despite my long internet-activity break, I've still done a bit of drawing. I realise that my proportions are shot for this picture. But, y'know, it's the concept that I wanted to illustrate. I mean, who does realism nowerdays?

I found a copy of LucasArts' 1998 Adventure game, Grim Fandango, recently for $10 at a Boxing Day sale. Obviously, I bought it. It's a great game. The characters are all wonderfully fleshed out, even the ones that only appear for short times. It's a fanficcer's dream. If only I were a good fanficcer... Instead, I draw. I decided to draw most of the game's villains playing poker with the game's protagonist, Manny Calavera. A certain sort of poker, that is. Manny's losing, probably because some of the others are cheating, and he ain't happy about it. Domino probably isn't helping, since he personally doesn't care if he ends up in nothing but a set of garters, he is going to make Manny lose. Because, y'know, the best character development can be made from humiliation. He's only hoping to alter Manny's outlook on life. Domino's a nice guy.

...Hector is, of course, winning. If he is not a reference to one Sydney Greenstreet character or another, I'll be quite suprised. Maximino is also winning at the moment, but he's just gotten into a phonecall with Olivia, and is therefore going to be somewhat distracted. Which is probably why Lola is sneaking a peek at the proceedings. Of course, she asserts that she's just taking photos of the building. That hideously out-of-proportion figure underneath her is supposed to be Chowchilla Charlia. He's there because he has a scented business card. Officer Bogan might have one too, since he's all full of lulz over Manny's predicament. It could just be that he's a vaguely sadistic ass, though. Don Copal's looking oddly small, but that's mostly because a lot of the other people playing are a little dangerous, so he can't afford to throw his weight around. Nick is, naturally, affixing an expression of vague boredom upon his features. Who knows what devious things could be lurking in the caverns of his cranium? Perhaps he's just jealously noticed that he and Domino are wearing the same kind of shirt. Omg!!! Lastly (but not "leastly"--he's certainly one of my favourite characters), Bowlsley has just snapped to attention at the sound of Maximino's handy-dandy phone's ringing. Can he interest you in a nice bunch of Azelias? A pretty set of grenades?

I originally had Glottis here, but he looked awful. He's probably off in another room losing all of Manny's money for him.

My ulterior motive for drawing this picture was actually to draw Nick and Domino in the same picture. Does it show?
