The look of the sky makes it seem like there may be a pitched battle taking place just a over the dune behind him. Yet he's looking in a different direction, like the real danger is coming from another quarter.

Haha good idea! You almost nailed it, lol: originally in this pic he was supposed to be evil - possessed by the power of the axe. I made the clouds behind him looks like smoke thinking that he had laid a village back there to waste, and the ashes were rising to the sky. Ultimately, I liked the image so much like this that I decided against giving him crazy eyes and evil powers in this shot... and that saves me from too much bad photshop, lol. If I do a story series with this shoot, which I had originally planned to do, I may add the evil effect at that point.
