It's a sort of weird little character that can't be seen by anyone but it can see everyone else. It's actually supposed to be an undetectable computer virus like thing that can hack into any computer that's connected to the internet and use each machine like a neuron or something - as well as use cameras, webcams, microphones etc to see and hear individuals with.
It can probably avoid detection by temporary removing itself if it thinks it might be discovered. Guess it's just scared how people will react if they found out about it.
