Description
Today, I bring you another completely experimental piece. I've been doing silhouette drawings, sketch doodles, and now? I'm trying to "paint" digitally and I wanted to have the focus be fully on the "background", and it might be how I'll be doing my background images from now on. One with paints to bring a little more life into Skin to Scales... Well, that and a mix of the blur tool, I really wanted to go for a landscape image where the structure is the main focus. I still feel like a lot of Genndy Tartavosky's work kind of bleeds into my own art or at least when it comes to my inspiration for *how* I do backgrounds and landscapes, but I also didn't want to replicate it one to one. I certainly want to ensure it's "inspired by" but isn't a total clone or rip off from the cartoons of my past.

Ironically, I can't believe I haven't illustrated Bayshore earlier, the place where most of the characters in the setting reside and it being mentioned again and again. A megacity made of marble, granite and limestone as it pierces the very clouds. A home for the various kobold species, those who worship the pillars, and dragons alike. The idea that it pierces the ocean floor with its verticality and the walls are physically almost a mile tall. That it's an endless labyrinth that habits countless alien species. Off-worlders, war veterans, rebels, those who seek shelter under the protection of the gods. This is where the mighty Tiamat sleeps, just underneath it's mighty and near impenetrable defenses. Once a small shore town, but over the years, it's become a massive super structure that has a fantasy aesthetic but is very highly and technologically advanced underneath.

Bayshore has admittedly fallen several times during its life cycle, and it's been rebuilt multiple times. The town is oppressively religious as you can't even walk ten foot or peering out a window without a statue crafted by the Scalebolds and or the Love-Bots of their gods. Those who live here though will be expected to go to war when the time comes to protect their homeland. For Bayshore is also home to multiple factions, such as the Warrior of the Pillars, The Cult of the Great Devourer, Captain PiK's Armada, Huntley's own Love-Bots and the Melting Flower. The population of course mostly being dominated by Scalebolds and Love-Bots as many believe this to be the "throne" of Materia
