In order to officially be admitted as a Bachelor's of Fine Arts major at the University of Georgia I had to submit a portfolio of 5 works of art to be judged by a small panel of judges and given a score of either pass or fail. I passed and this is one of the peices from that portfolio.We had to include a self portrait done in any "dry" medium, like pencil, pastel, pen, etc. I chose to work with graphite and carbon pencil, because I have always enjoyed doing portraits in them. Some of you may recognize the photo of me I used as reference. I am extremely proud of this and it is my favorite self portrait to date.

I know what you mean, I keep avoiding updates because it's sort of a long, drawn out, not entirely positive load of life that I'd be dumping out on things. Not all bad, but definitely not all good either.
