What a lovelily bitter and right description you give. I know how it is. Mum left us not so long ago still tears me up inside it probably always will. Anyway I dont want to get started on that or I'll be crying myself to sleep. Its a lovely picture. India I have not quite been there but lived in Indonesia for 8 years of my life AKA half of it and made my way to thailand and the golden triangle (where burma, laos and thailand meet). such freedom and fresh air where I lived Kalimantan (AKA Borneo) 60 km above equator. anyway rambling.
You have some brilliant photos.

The contrast in this picture really makes for an interesting piece. I don't think I've ever seen a headstone crack like that, either. I did find it a little amusing that the mother screamed in Hindi and swore in English, but the loss that you speak of in your description makes it more saddening and forces the feeling of loss into my gut. I can't even imagine how any of you felt, but I can begin to understand because of how you stated it. As an aside, I was curious if you got the inscription on the stone before you left. Also, I like the angle of the shot.

Yes I really like the contrast, especialy the green in the grass. Yea this cemetary is known for having really really old and uncared for tombstones..Sort of forgotten.
I think loss can't really be known untill you actually really have to deal with a big loss. Or in my case, staring at your friends lifeless face while standing open an open casket. It's rather unerving.
Yes actually I sorted through some photographs and found the stone again, It was rather depressing I remember now.. It says
"At rest Olga Erksen 1900 -1937
Someday we'll understand"
My friend and I figured it was suicide.

That inscription is kind of creepy. In a strange way, I like it. Thank you for replying with that and hopefully, in time, you'll feel better about this event. I hope that peace comes to you soon.

It's a really effective picture, i like the coposition and the colour. The cracks in the stone give it a lot of feeling as well.
