As expected of her, when I wouldn't tell her anything she went to extremes. She ran back away from me at what would be an impressive speed if I didn't know what would happen next; she scaled her fungi 'tower' and propelled off of it towards me at full speed. Thankfully, I caught her before she could crush me under her weight.

"Hotaru, I will drop you."

"B-But, Ryo-chan!" She started to cry.

"Nothing is wrong."

"Don't lie!"

Honestly, I was talking to a child.
I don't really have to time to worry about emotions. Weighing them out to what's 'right', and 'wrong' so I wasn't even.... well-informed enough to answer that question truly.

"I'm not lying, but I am getting annoyed."

"Your tone is flat! Usually you'd yell!"

Ironically, a pin prick of pain hit my ear when her voice raised octaves.

"Ah!" She looked away from me, her face started growing red. "K-Kida-chan!"

I moved my eyes from her to where she was looking, and there Kirisute was, wide-eyed with his mouth hanging open like he wanted to say something, but couldn't find the words in the goldfish brain of his.

"H-Hota-chan.." He nodded feebly, and looked away, embarrassed, obviously thinking he'd walked in at a 'bad time'. Without any warning, I threw Hotaru to him. Quickly, he sprawled to catch her.

"Go."

Hotaru looked at me like she wanted to say something, and so did Kirisute, though I knew nothing positive would have come from his mouth when I 'spoke rudely' to his girlfriend.

He looked down and nodded a little, taking Hotaru's hand softly, gently in his.

"L-Let's go, ok?" He smiled at her sheepishly. It caught me off guard for a second. It was similar to... Then I turned on my heel and left, so no more traces of teme could be found.
