Very cool shot. YOu're either very skilled or very lucky to catch these machines lined up just so. The blur on the side of the road adds a nice touch to this composition, to my mind.

the clear blue sky is refreshing - and i like how its darker at the edges of the photo, that seems to add emphasis to the old.

Nicely done, many times shooting from a moving car doesn't work and you need a high shutter, to freeze it, but here, I like this with the sense of motion, it really adds something to the shot as a whole

Really? I've considered adding this one to the scraps folder, but I've gotten some good feedback on it so it's still in the gallery...

I'm glad that my amateur attempt worked on some level.

Turned out great for taking it while in a car. I hope you weren't the one driving!

I love that the windmills are in motion ... give it a sense of dynamic movement. Also the contrast between the modern and old windmills.

hehe. No, I was not driving.

I'm glad you like it.. thanks for not tearing into it too bad

Yeah, the movement is nice, but I would have LOVED to stop, set up a tripod, and shoot this the good old fashioned way.

Yeah, it's hard to pull over on a highway where the speed limit is 80 miles an hour though. That means some people are going 95/100 miles an hour.

buyobabyboo In reply to twofirstnames [2008-12-08 05:48:21 +0000 UTC]

yeah, this is true XD 80 seems real fast when AR highways only reach 70

ummm..naughty, bet all photographers do that ...but a nice capture even at speed, we have the New fancy windmills here springing up all over the place but always wondered what the other ones were as I have only seen them on the before...lol now I know, I like the look of the old ones better.

Yeah, trucking along at 80+ miles an hour through Texas and fading light isn't exactly the best time to be shooting is it?? Oh well, it turned out okay considering.

Yeah, they still use the old mills, mostly just to pump water for the cows now. I'm glad you like the shot. Yes, these old mills had a lot of character.
