I have to say.. That's really freaking interesting!
Now my only question is is what has this mask gone through to make it look rusted and old. Like, paint wise and brushes, and such..

I did a base coat of silver and used masking fluid around the edges, let it dry, and did a dark yellow base coat and peeled away the masking fluid to achieve the paint chipping effect. The rest is just black/brown washes.
