Cheers Kieran. Two trips and 500 odd miles later, I kinda got what I was after.

Ah ah, that really fits with my first reaction to this shot, which was that I must find 'that castle' in Whales. I can see a long trip ahead but it should be worthwhile. This reminds me so much of a castle nestling in the Welsh hills but I can't remember it's name or where it was. I've only just started taking photo's properly, ie putting some effort into getting a good shot, for the last sixth months so I've got a lifetime of memories and potential images that flood back with triggers like this.

It also strikes a familiar note with the times that I have either had to go back to redo a panorama, had to try and creatively crop or add elements to cover for missing information in the original shots. I'm finding that this way of taking panoramas (several rows of vertical shots) to be much more successful. The end results often don't look quite so wide but it means that you get enough sky and foreground to make a good crop.

Anyway, sorry for 'woffling' on, I've got a castle to hunt down

Thanks for the comment. The shot was taken from the edge of a main road, but at that time of the morning you can just lean against the fence and get lost in the view.

awesome lighting. the castle almost seems to glow in the sunlight and against the darker trees.

Many thanks.
I was lucky with the light that morning. I did help it along with abit of photoshop, but I can't decide whether i over cooked it or not.
