they are immune to, and I quote "most" poisons, I assume particularly potent poisons could affect Basitin biology, to a degree. think Dwarves from most fantasy things like D&D, and LOTR. They're resistant to poison, so they brew potent alcohol that lets them get drunk

First thing that comes to mind, "Ok, but why's the rum gone?"
Also reminds me of something that I made in DND. Managed to acquire a bunch of watermelons, nails and dwarven spirits. Hollow out the melons, fill with spirits and nails. Set up a candle on top so that it will fall in after a period of time. Set it up (don't roll a one) and watch the boom from a distance.
