Sketched with a blue mechanical pencil, then CG'd in PSP.Marginally better than the last one, but I'm in a phase of completing stuff and then hating it. (Which sucks, because that puts me off starting anything new -- and I had so many ideas!) Gahh, the fact the colours didn't turn out irks me! Still, going to keep on posting because that's the only way I'll get myself to improve.
Academy!Hitsugaya again, just because. And slightly whumped this time (inspired by the LJ comm). Maybe it's what happened before this one ([link] ), since I just so happened to draw a cut on the same cheek... I swear, that wasn't planned! It just happened

The softness used is something that one doesn't see in a Hitsugaya-related piece. I like the effect. It makes this look almost like a half remembered memory.

I scanned in a sketch and then just coloured over the rough lineart, using the point-to-point selection tool with the "feather" setting at 5 or so depending on how fuzzy/glowy I wanted that layer to be... Then I just dodged/burned/smudged and voila! If that vague description makes any sense... I use JASC PaintShop Pro rather than Adobe Photoshop, if that explains anything.
I'm still not happy with the shadows though (probably will darken it and repost one day) and I'm actually a little surprised you like the background! It was all kinda "oh gosh, it's nearly morning and I just wanna get this DONE so I'll throw in a lazy perspective background..." THANKS!

That makes sense, at least it sounds like commands you can use in Photoshop too... I think
I've done that with backgrounds many a time. I hate making them so I'll just throw one on. Either way I like it, it's simple yet effective. It's not too busy so it doesn't take the focus away from Hitsugaya. I also like the textured effect it has on the edges
