Eclipse is detrimental to closed species and ARPGs. It will be removing features such as sta.sh writer, custom boxes and BBcode. These features are what make the site favourable for some people. Without them, deviantArt is pretty much useless. Also, some people just really don't like the new layout. It looks very "mobile-y" even on desktop. Clunky, big boxes, with a supposed "modern" look which personally gives me a headache looking at it.
