I keep trying to make Mona Lisa a more angsty character, but whenever I draw her, she just seems to have this indomitable optimism not matter how bad things get. Raph does not get it all, but he is intrigued.Just when I wonder if I'm done shipping this pairing, drawings like this flow from my fingers. Just another group of sketches from the WIP folder that will probably be in scraps eventually.

I like to think that in each universe she is different, since every character seems to be different in every TMNT universe. I think it is good though when every incarnation has a few similar character traits. In a way, that could be what you see for Mona Lisa; she is different in each universe with different choices. Fundamentally though, she is an optimistic person.

I like the surprised look on Mona's face. After seeing Raph meets his Match when I was younger and rewatching it, I cant see either one of them hooking up with anyone else in turtle lore. Good job

I love Mona so much, I'd be happy to see her paired with any of the turtles. But I certainly don't mind her with Raphael. ^.^

Eheeheeheehee I like this. I agree that someone who is optimistic but doesn't push his buttons too much and Mona lends that gentle optimism.

Haha! You can't have an angsty character paired with Raphael! No matter how angsty they are, he was always out-pessimist them. They will end up optimistic out of default
I see to remember Mona being pretty perky in the show. Under a great deal of stress, but still indomitable. It's no wonder Raph wants to smooch her

I agree. Cannot have 2 angsty characters at once. Then it will feel like they are trying to out angst each other. And Raph and Leo do that enough.
Mona in the show was perky and also very self reliant. I really liked that about her.

It's actually because of the creators. They don't like having any mutants beside the four turtle boys. I'm sure the executives of the cartoon vetoed them since they could sell more action figures that way.
