Ok just to make it clear:
Prime punishes sunstreaker and sideswipe by leaving them in the ark with Ironhide to watch over them, the twins how ever managed to loose him. Seeing the opportunity sunstreaker wants revenge, because prowl had humiliated him a week before, suddenly the alarms go off warning that there's a decepticon in the base, sunstreaker's happy because he'll be able to fight, so he give sides sting spray (similar to pepper spray) and he takes one as well, and they both go looking for the 'con.
