I wanted to have some fun with the Easter HoliDino, and I also wanted to make sure we had a Ceratopsian in the lineup, since so far we’ve had multiple stegosaurs & carnivores but none of our lovely horned & frilled friends have yet to make an appearance.

I always like my HoliDinos to have an alliterative name, so when trying to pick the dinosaur for Easter, I was searching for a dinosaur that began with the letter “E”, and Einiosaurus jumped out at me. Not just for the alliterative name, but also for the twin horns on its frill. At this point all I knew was that I wanted a ceratopsian and that eggs would be involved for the Easter theme. But those horns - they were perfect. They looked like bunny ears.

I was reminded of the 1990s Cadbury Egg commercials in which animals that weren’t bunnies (including at one point a LION) were “trying out” to be the Cadbury Egg Bunny. And thus the idea for this HoliDino popped into my head fully formed like Athena out of Zeus’ forehead.
