Dislikes: Making people pay for food, when her friends fight, cleaning, being stuck in one place all of the time, being lectured, when her friends are depressed, bitter or sour foods.

Personality: Botan has a tendency to be a bit dense, but despite that she is generally good-natured. The thing she enjoys doing the most is making her friends smile, the easiest way of which is cooking for them. That's not to say that she's a pushover, however. If a bad situation is going down, she will stand up for her friends and herself, even with force if that is absolutely necessary. She's not scared of getting hurt, but she's terrified of hospitals.

History: Botan was born to a family of Ursaring and Beartic, and had many teddiursa and cubchoo brothers. The family lived on a farm that took care of the honey production, but they weren't the head family in that area. Many people looked down on them as the entire family was uneducated, and when Botan was born she wasn't treated any differently.

She never got the chance to know this part of her history though, as when she was only a little over a half a year old, raiders came to the farm and burned everybody, destroying her entire family and the people they worked with. Botan only survived by being hid inside a basket that was put in a hiding place next to a river. It was a day or two before somebody found her among the reeds. A small Joltik boy about eight years old was wandering the area with his "family" of ninja, scouring to look for any survivors of the raid, and to loot a little bit. He wandered amongst the reeds and found Botan. Knowing that she was barely a baby, he grabbed a hold of her and ran back to the leader of his make-shift clan.

They brought her to their home, where she was raised for much of her young life. The little boy, Daikumo Yusuke, became her "brother" and nobody ever told her that it was only through bonds of love, and not blood bonds, that they were siblings. She watched him and his brothers train every day, and when she was old enough she was given the choice to train as a ninja or to learn a practical skill. Not believing in herself to fight, she chose to learn how to bake. It took years of trial and error, but by the time she was ten years old she was working to help the other bakers of the clan.

And then a rival clan came to wipe out their entire existence. Many of the ninja were destroyed, as were the innocent civilians of the group. Being given an order by the head, Yusuke save Botan from certain death before grabbing her and fleeing their home, evolving into a garvantula during that time. They waited for a long time for survivors to come across, but none ever came. After a couple of months the two began to wander to try and find a new home. As they did, Botan became the one in charge of cooking, but they both learned how to hunt for food. After a while Yusuke learned that she would need to be able to fight in order to survive if they were ever seperated, so he gave her basic self defense skills, as well as teaching her a few techniques.

Then they came to the Capitol city. Botan, intimidated by the crowds, was scared of it at first, and they made a home in the Forbidden Hollow instead. Yusuke was able to make a living as an assassin there, but Botan was not made of the same stuff as her brother. Yusuke recognized this and started funneling some of the money he made from his job towards buying a plot of land in the city. It took a few years, but eventually they did the paperwork ((Yusuke had to help with this, as Botan is illiterate in many ways)) were able to create a bakery there. The two of them built the building together, and when it was done they channeled the rest of their resources into buying supplies and then renting an apartment for Botan in the city.

Until recently the two siblings were separated, but they visited each other. Botan had hoped that one day Yusuke would give up being an assassin, when she could support the two of them by herself.

However, after Akaoni made his appearance, Yusuke left to go to the badlands, essentially becoming a traitor. Telling the truth to Botan, who at the time had thought her name was Mikazuki, she was heartbroken, and for a while refused to see him as her brother.

Soon afterwards she began seeing a ninetales by the name of Kenji, and for a while a lot was going well. She was growing closer to her friends, and she eventually made up with Yusuke ((though she's still wary of his willingness to be a badlander)). The two eventually became engaged, but Botan broke it off due to emotional reasons, and he committed suicide. That same night her friends Ebisu and Kiya were killed by Abomasnow.

Since then Botan has met a Swanna named Jomei and is currently living with him, and with the return of the badlanders has allowed herself to be employed by Shinrai, the Lugia. She is not officially a samurai, but she's determined to help in any way possible.

- The name her family had originally given her was "Botan" meaning "Peony".

- Both her knuckles and her knife were gifts from her brother.
