It's finally done, scanned and uploaded! I think I started this one mid year....This picture is inspired by the figure of the Rainbow Serpent which appears in Aboriginal Dreamtime mythology across a lot of Australia. You may be wondering why there's a kangaroo if it's a 'serpent'. In some of the earliest rock art from Arnhem land in the NT. There is a lot more variation in the way the Serpent was depicted. Some show a kangaroo like creature with a long tail and it is that variety that this picture is based on.
I like drawing the pandanus in the background. It took ages but was totally worth it. Pandanus are pretty common around the waterways of the NT.

They are creator entities so they probably wouldn't make the best pets. Also the Rainbow Serpent was what carved out all the rivers so keeping it penned might be a bit of a problem.

Oh wow, is this creature under the water, mostly his lower part? If so, this is really fantastic. It seems like a fascinating beast.
