Description "Off we go, tiddely pom."

When the drums of war are sounded, it is inevitable that most of the nobility, tired of the balls and banquets, to rush to the Kriegsministerium, so they can raise their own regiments to carry their house's banner to the fields of glory and test their mettle as true-blooded Gombostonians. While Wolfgang wasn't entitled to such honour, being Ost-Gombostonian, the Kriegsministerium weren't going to deny the chance from the gentry to shoulder the costs of war, especially if they come with the recommendation of the Emperor. Nearly all of these self-proclaimed knights "honourably" discharge themselves after the first bullet hisses by their ears, to run back to their estates where they can bore their guests to death with wild stories of their heroics, leaving the privately raised forces in the state's posession.

Wolfgang did no such favours. As a proud sportsman, he was adamant to play the game through, closest to the action, usually behind enemy lines. Having raised a light cavalry battalion he was mostly assigned with simple reconnaissance mission, but when your unckle rubs elbow with the Emperor of Gomboston, you get some leeway of how far you can reconnoiter. To the Gombostonian and Chedrihan High Command's greatest annoyance he usually busies himself causing trouble at the most unexpected places.
His greatest pleasure is to challenge captured officers to sabre duels and keep their gorgets as war-trophies. He usually offers the lives of their subordinates as a price... whom he's going to release anyway, if they give their word of honour to not give chase.

His old-fashioned unifom, daring actions, genteel behaviour and his ability to slip away from the army has earned the nickname of "Le fantôme fou de la guerre" (the mad ghost of war) from the Chedrihans. Despite the name he became rather endeared by the Chedrihan population, especially as the war dragged on. Giving away surplus loot to half-starved peasants or chasing away recruiting or requisitioning officers has elevated him as a local folk hero in some places.

Whenever he is actually mad or not is still debated in the gutter press.

--------

And here would be my greatest 180, in my entire artist career. With the introduction of cavalry and no idea what to do with this guy, I think I may have found the perfect role for this guy. From a deplorable, machiavellian schemer to a half-mad hussar. This also keeps him out of Tyranio's gang, keeping him more of a recurring character. Also I need more good characters even if they are a tad unhinged.
