“Long before the age of men, it was said a great star fell from the heaven and into the earth. From where the star fell, a terrible demon clad in black was born. Shallowing the great, scaled beast that once ruled the planet and spreads nothing but fire, brimstone and destructive. Until Gaia herself fought back and summon forth divine lepidopterans to fight back again the demonic beast. Though at the great cost of their numbers, the divine lepidopterans managed to seal the beast deep below. There it slumbers for eternity, guarded by the last two members of the Divine Moths.”

Even though King Ghidorah is the big end game baddy of this universe, I did like the notion of there being an entire species of him roaming around. Each one taking out planets across the universe. With Death Ghidorah I likened the idea of him being a younger member of King’s kind. Ghidorahs are naturally born black to camouflage in the void of space until they mature into adulthood, where they gain that bright, ethereal glow because nothing in the universe beside another Ghidorah dare to screw with them. Even though he is asleep underneath the Earth, I had the idea that like King Ghidorah he could still communicate and influence things without being physically there. Who knows, maybe that is the deal with Bagan’s origins or who gave the ancient Atlanteans the idea of the Gyaos? Where King G is the beautiful, deceiving devil, Death is the classic pitchfork and horns.
