Okay so I did this in a rush that I forgot to write down the details..... V_V;;;;

Basically this is my contest submission for 's dressphere-making contest.

It's called the Arachnia dressphere [originally called Black Widow but it's (1) too long and (2) doesnt fit Rikku. She's no widow and the outfit's not really black. owo; ]

I've decided to come up with an assassin dressphere since Ayane [the one she's to fight in the next vid] is a ninja of sorts. [I don't play DoA, leave me alone! XD; ]

The basic black and white design was easy to do but when I came to the colors, I was partly stumped because I wanted Rikku to be more stealthy by adding dark colors but Rikku usually uses bright colors like yellow and such.

So I used orange and dark purple instead. 8D; the reason for the color choices is for 'optical illusion' purposes. It helps, given the weapon she's using which is a pair of mini-scythes/hooks joined to a short 'bo' [some sort of stick used to fight. Think Billy Kane from King of Fighters? 8D; ] with wires.

in what way optical illusion?
-Okay, I used a sort-of bright orange with dark purple on alternating limbs/designs and since assassins have high speed, the contrasting colors give a misconception to her opponent that her limbs have grown shorter/longer and so gives Rikku the advantage in terms of close combat. [if she's using the hooks/scythes]

weapon;
-it's described up there but basically they're 3 weapons in one. the first are the scythes, for close combat. Alternatively, the wires can be used to strangle her opponents and the 'bo' is mainly used to block.

She can also use the 'bo' to swing her hooks, the wires allowing mid-range combat.

In times of desperation, Rikku can just hold the 'bo' and spin it rapidly so her scythe-wire-bo weapon combo can serve as a very powerful shield and weapon at the same time.

main idea of the outfit;
-well. XD; dropped a rather heavy hint that he liked Rider from Fate/Stay Night so I started thinking of the characteristics of Rider's outfit.

+It enabled mobility.
+it looks sexy [i wouldnt be caught dead wearing it though XD]
+It's perfect for stealth

so I decided to go with a skimpy assassin design. 8D; But I didn't want to just make it look plain so I gave it some spider-y characteristics [hence wires in her weapon instead of the chains I initially wanted and the Black Widow design on the back of her clothes] to give her a more assassin-ish feel.

dunno if I pulled it off right.

Henyway, I was too lazy to CG her back view but the hourglass-thingy on her back is red, just like the ones on her shoes and her skirt. XD

Here's hoping I get picked as one of the few winners because I put a lot of thought into this. X3;;;;
