Sonic finds himself in a strange situation hot on the
heils of Dr. Eggman, What he thought would be a routine rescuing of his friend Amy Rose soon becomes a near fatal encounter with the Changeling Queen Chrysalis. The vile queen manages to syphon the love in Sonic's heart hoping to become more powerful than before. But this proves to be a grave error. Without love in his heart, Sonic now mutates into a true nightmare known as the Hatehog. Struggling to control his inner darkness Sonic now must continuously shift between his two selves as he continues on Eggman's trail...

Tails and Sonic conclude that they will need to gather the Chaos Emerald to help reverse Sonic's predicament. Only problem is that the location of these Emeralds is now hard to pin down as there are 27 energy reading spikes across the globe, on top of that they only have time to personally investigae 7 of them whilst the trail Eggman is leaving is still warm....

MERCURY ZONE
One of the seventh locations to investigate. Eggman's taste in theme park bases shines through yet again, even for as technological and bleak this base seems to be it still feels more like a pinball machine than anything. Stranger still is that most of it is flowing rivers of multi-colored liquid metal and more often than not infiltraters must navigae giant billard ball courses to survive.

POSSIBLE PATH MISSIONS;
I figured you would infiltrate my hidden underwater base, no matter! I came across this purple Pony who was trying to help you, if you are the hero I know you are then give me the Chaos Emeralds you got! All you have to do is head to the signpost to comply!
Great job getting half of the Chaos Emeralds but Eggman got the rest, he's hoping to try and force you to give up the Emeralds you have with a hostage but you can't fall for it. It will be diificult to turn your back on his hostage but the Chaos Emeralds are our top priority regarding the Hatehog inside you.
This Eggman person has captured my dearest friend Twilight, I would beg you to surrender the Chaos Emeralds you have but only if we have no other choice. There is another way to get around his trap, it will be even more difficult than normal and you cannot get the remaining Emeralds but I know a way into the cell holding Twilight. Will you help me get her back?
