yeah they are cute, though they are existed earlier, and this kind of art called Mecha Mosume where girls and sometimes guys represent various vehicles from artillery to tanks, guns to robots and ships to aircraft!

It kind of makes me wonder what the ships of the proposed Hachihachi Kantai(Eight-Eight fleet) would look like.

Tosa would be exactly like Nagato but with a 5th Turret and such a bit longer hull
Kii and Amagi very similar
No-13 would be like an upgunned Nagato with 46cm/18inch cannons all other to be equipped with 41cm/16inch cannons
and an extra: IJN Shokaku the forgotten sister ship of the Hosho cancelled by the WNT

From only side view you don't know the shape of the hull, the shape of the superstructures the shape of the turrets nor their arrangements (Echelon or Centreline?) Or how much barrels a turret have: one, two, three, four, five or six?
