Description "Welcome to the Glade"

A Griever from "The Maze Runner" by James Dashner. Although at first I imagined them as cows [don't ask], this is how I picture these groutesque part-mechanical creatures of the Maze.

EDIT: I have sketched out a simple layout of The Glade, which can be found here: [link]

I originally pictured them as humanoid creatures with sickles on their arms and machines and spikes coming out of their back, then somehow turning into a slimy buzzsaw when they move.

Bald slimy cows (with mechanical devices coming out of 'em) sure would scare the bejeezus out of anyone.

I pictured them as overgrown beetles with spikes and machines comming out of them, if that makes sense.

I think I can picture what you're thinking, though I haven't heard "beetle" before. Usually people picture cows or slugs. Would be interesting to see how you view 'em

I can see a slug but ive never heard cow before. Oh well, your drawing of the griever by the way is amazing.

I'm actually surprised how different people's images of the Griever are; at first I thought everyone pictured them as slugs. But your beetle-thingy was quite different than some of the others.
I want to do an updated version of a Griever, though I lack time. Maybe one day I'll combine everyone's ideas into one.

I've only read the blurb of the second novel, though it's in the middle of my pile of ~40 other books that require my attention. *sigh* Though I do hope to get around to reading it eventually.

it was just a small suggestion. you don't have to, but it would help to the others to kinda picture what the glade looks like. I'M FRIKKIN EXCITED FOR DEATH CURE!!!!

but i still need to read scorch trials....better get crackin at it then

True, though now I kind of think it would be fun to draw it. I'm going to have to read through Maze Runner again (at least certain scenes).
Wow, I haven't read Scorch Trials either! Hurrah for procrastination.

i think it might be fun. that isn't too hard. just read the first 5 chapters or so. i haven't read scorch trials only cuz i just finished maze runner. Dashner is one of my fav authors. his ideas are so original and fantasic. i'll get working on it tomorrow or the next day, but i'm too anxious to wait for Death Cure. i can tell it's going to be great.
