Something I wanted to convey with this piece is how kiria is still clinging onto hokuto even after he is in a coma and will likely never wake up, he talks to him as if he’s conscious and wheels him around to see paintings even though he has no way of seeing them, like Kiria is in denial that Hokuto is basically dead. The imagery of the roots and vines is basically how Hokuto is so long gone that he is sprouting plants from him yet Kiria still tends to him like a garden because he refuses to accept that the weeds have taken over him.
