Description
Rusanivka is a historical place, a residential area of Kyiv. Surrounded on all sides by water , Rusanivka resembles a park rather than a residential neighborhood. Three of the four streets of the island are green boulevards and a promenade , along which there are cafes and restaurants , and from the shore there there is a view of the slopes of the right bank , view of the Kyivo-Pechers'ka Lavra and the Motherland monument (the monument looks like a toy sculpture on a hill).

Rusanivka is the only district of Kyiv built on an artificial island. The massif is separated from the left bank by a canal and is connected to the city by three road and two pedestrian bridges. The right bank can be reached via the Paton Bridge (Named after a prominent Ukrainian scientist Borys Yevhenovych Paton , he like his father Evgeny Paton, was famous for his works in electric welding. The first welded bridge in Kyiv , Paton Bridge , constructed under the supervision of Evgeny Paton , bears his name.). [1] , [2]

Construction of the island began in 1961 and was completed by 1974. The multi-storey Rusanivka has become an elite neighborhood with a developed infrastructure , beaches , recreation areas and for half a century retains the reputation of an exemplary residential area.

Rusanivska Embankment is a popular place of leisure not only for locals, but also for residents of nearby areas. In summer, people come from all over the left bank to relax by the water, dine at a restaurant and walk along the bay. The less tidy Enthusiasts Street, which surrounds the neighborhood along the canal line, is a favorite place for cyclists and runners.
