i don't think he even feels it hardly. there have been times that some of the kitties have had to be pushed away from the fire cuz they get so close it starts singeing their hair. they are so well insulated i dont know if it bothers them at all.

i know... i used to have a cat that was forever walking around with charcoal gray, oddly curled up, blunt little whiskers from getting too close to the heater...

it's like they cant feel the heat as pain until they actually touch their noses to it, which happened to sad kitty who had to get on the stove and push her nose against the hot frying pan.
